Karen is the best! She creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable speaking up, making mistakes, and learning something new. She's always prepared to adapt to whatever comes up during a lesson. I look forward to class every week.
Karen makes learning enjoyable and the practice and drills fun. She has a wide range of supplemental resources to help during class time and during individual study time and homework. Her instruction has widened my vocabulary and improved my facility in conversation. She’s very good at sparking conversations and guiding me in ways that help me practice grammatical content in conversation.

Karen is such an amazing instructor! She’s fun and funny, and she’s so very patient with us. My boyfriend and I have very different learning styles and she is really great at finding multiple ways of explaining concepts so that we can both keep learning at the same pace. Karen is a wonderful teacher. I've been taking Spanish with her for the past five weeks and have learned a great deal about the structure of the language. She is very patient and caters to my learning speed. I love the cafe we meet at, it's very conducive to reviewing the lesson plans she has set forth. She always issues homework shortly after or during our class, so I have something to work on throughout the week. I would recommend Karen to a friend!

I've taken group classes in person and private classes via Skype. I prefer the small group classes, and the flexibility of choosing a location near me makes it perfect. Karen is a superb teacher.

We had a wonderful experience learning Spanish with Karen. We also didn't make it easy for her-my husband, three year old daughter and I all had 1:1 lessons, so she had to pivot and teach one adult with limited foreign language knowledge, one with a lot of knowledge about three other languages and a three year old who frankly knew the most Spanish from her preschool. Karen was a total professional and able to not only roll with our chaotic house, but adapt her teaching to meet all of our needs. Also she came to our house-that is pure gold with a toddler.

I finally fulfilled a long-term goal of taking Spanish classes. Last year I started taking private lessons with Karen G., based upon wanting to work with someone familiar with Argentine Spanish and I'm so happy I took the plunge! Karen is a fantastic teacher who makes learning fun. Though I still have much to learn before becoming totally fluent, I've reached a point where I am able to converse in Spanish with my husband's Spanish-only speaking family as well as our Argentine friends. Though her expertise is obviously not limited to just Argentine Spanish, it's helpful to have someone who can add the extra conjugations to my lessons to give me the complete picture. Since I had a little prior knowledge of Spanish and had an imminent trip, Karen was able to tailor my lessons leading up to it and fast-track a lot of learning in a short time. Later we focused on more grammar and conversation, eventually graduating to writing assignments and then mostly conversation. At this point, I'm proud to say that I'm also reading novels in Spanish and I'm very motivated to keep practicing and learning as much as I can. If you are on the fence about taking private lessons, I can say it's well worth the investment. This is the best thing I did for myself this past year!

It's a lot easier to get excited about a Spanish conversation class if your conversations are about subjects you actually enjoy with someone who is smart and funny.
